Cruisin the Coolstores November 2008
With the 1st Tuesday of November being a public holiday for the Melbourne Cup, the cars started rolling in early for another Coolstore Cruise. We had 30 cars cruise in before we could set up at the entrance!
The Tasmanian contingent dropped in on their way to the Bright Rod Run. Always good to catch up with this enthusiastic bunch. They also had a few mates come to cruise night with them. By the time the 7:30pm entrants prize draw came around, over 280 cars had cruised in for our biggest cruise night ever! It was a good test for our new caterer in the car park! Hot Rod's Roasts and his team were still going strong right to the end of the night.
Our latest Cruiser member #302, who had signed up on the night took home a flamed wall clock by winning the special Cruiser prize.
Picking a winner for the Best Presented award proved a tough task as there were many cars that displayed excellent detail in their preparation. We settled on the Craig family's '64 Chevrolet Sedan. This car is well known on the Melbourne car scene and is always immaculately turn out every time you see it. John & Bettina collected a bucket filled with car care products to help keep their big red Chevy looking good in the future. Congratulations.
We found winners for the entrant's gate prizes, and yes, the slabs kept their record intact by being picked first, and another Coolstore Cruise Night came to an end. Thanks for coming along. Here are some photos from our roving photographer, Graeme. See you next month for Santa Cruz.
