Cruisin the Coolstores February 2008

The forecasters couldn't make up their minds what the weather was going to do for our February Cruise the Coolstore, but around 150 street rodders & chrome bumper car owners did, when they cruised in. Another warm summers evening set the scene for a gathering of a great cross section of cars of all types and eras. The LGC gals arranged a fashion show for the ladies [sorry if it hurt your wallets a little guys]. See the photos on the "pink Slips' web page. Food service returned to the Bistro, the BBQ was steady all night keeping the crowd fed, and the Coolstores café, Moggy's, under new management, was open for some coffee & cake. It will now operate at future cruise nights.

At 7:30pm Bill Duyvestyn announced that we'd identified another worthy recipient of our Real Car Guy award. Milan Dokic looked surprised after being presented with a RCG jacket & other goodies to recognize the great contribution he has made over the years to our favourite hobby!

We passed another milestone with the signing of our 200th Cruiser. David Hunt looked stunned when he was called up to collect a few goodies to recognize the great timing of his decision to sign up! The door prizes were soon distributed to many happy winners along with some tickets to upcoming shows at the Peninsula Lounge.

The one downer of the night was the irresponsible behaviour from a couple of people when leaving the venue. The off duty police present at the cruise indicated to us that we can expect increased police attention at future cruise nights as a result. As organizers, we do not condone this type of behaviour, as it risks our cruise nights being shut down. We therefore ask that entrants attending our cruise nights behave responsibly at ALL times, and ESPECIALLY when departing the venue.
