Peninsula Cruise Night - February 2012
Our on again off again summer continues but 300+ car enthusiasts still decided to cruise to Mornington to enjoy a cool but dry and clear night. Again, lots of variety of make, model and era of cars on display. Also, some fresh off the boat from the USA, some fresh out of the workshop and some just dusted off for a rare outing. Have a look at the photos below and you’ll see what we mean.
Best Presented award was taken out by Rohan Hutson’s ’55 Chevrolet convertible. This orange and white beauty is hard to miss and with its rumbling big block lurking under the hood, you can’t miss it starting up either. Rohan took home a bucket filled with car care products to help keep his ‘vert in great shape.
Herman Twinkler was the lucky LGC Cruiser whose name was pulled from the box of names of all the Cruisers present and picked up $100 for just being there. It took considerably longer to find winners for the ACDelco service packs. Some nights we pull the three winners straight up. Not on this night though. After pulling about ten tickets we managed to find homes for the prizes on offer.
Next month’s cruise night is a biggie, with the LGC Cruiser annual prizes up for grabs. While Cruisers don’t have to be present to win one of the three great prizes, Cruisers present at the draw have priority in choosing their prize even if their name is last out of box. Cruiser draw for the night will also be a one off Let’s Go Cruisin’ 44 gal drum. You’ll be the only one with one. You’ll need to be present to win this though.
If you missed out on getting a flyer on the night [we ran out as we had many more entrants than we planned for] you can download a copy here [PDF].
See you all on the first Tuesday of next month.
