Peninsula Cruise Night - January 2012
After a couple of very hot days, and with the weather forecasters threatening a stormy change sometime Tuesday evening, [as you’d expect given it’s our cruise night] we still had just on 300 chrome bumper and classic car owners cruise in. They discovered that the evening temperature in Mornington was quite comfortable, the threatened storm clouds rolled right on by and a very enjoyable event was soon in full swing. Again, lots of new cars to check out.
Col McQuinn took home the bucket filled withcar care products when his beautifully turned out bright orange ’69 Chev Impala convertible was given the nod as Best Presented car on the night. Colin had plenty of competition as a good number of cars had been very well prepped.
Then it was time to find a winner of the $100 up for grabs in the night’s LGC Cruiser draw. A new Cruiser who signed up on the night has his number drawn out. How often does this happen! To our surprise, the lucky winner, Jason handed back the $100 with instructions for us to include it in our next charitable donation. We will certainly honour his generous request. Thanks Jason.
Then we took a while to find three winners for the nights ACDelco car care packs as quite a few entrants had rolled out earlier than usual, no doubt concerned by the threat of a storm on the way home. The photos in the media of those big hail stones that fell on some suburbs on Christmas day, still fresh in the memory banks.
The pictures tell the story, nice warm evening, lots of great cars, a real ‘holiday’ atmosphere and another very enjoyable Peninsula Cruise Night.
