Peninsula Cruise Night - October 2015
I know that I can sometimes be guilty of harping on about the weather and its effect on our cruise nights but really! How about leaving home in shorts & T shirts with the temperature in the mid 30’s and heading home 3 hours later with heater cranked up trying to thaw out! So yet again, Melbourne’s famous weather saved its best for our cruise night. At least it didn’t rain and daylight saving has returned so be thankful for that.
The good news is that it didn’t deter around 200 car enthusiasts from braving the 4pm wind shift and temp drop to enjoy what cruise nights are all about. Catching up with friends, making new ones, checking out new cars and sampling the fine fare available from the Sober Mule Cafe and the Rotary BBQ. There were lots of great cars on display as Graeme’s photos show below.
At 7pm it was time for the night’s prize draws. The first Cruiser name drawn had departed so next name out was regular winner Rex, who was now buying the Pizza’s for his crew on the trip home. Peter claimed the Dyno Tune Voucher sponsored by Chev’s Performance in Carrum Downs. It took a few draws to find winners in the night’s entrant’s gate raffle but we did send home three happy winners.
Next month’s cruise night falls on Melbourne Cup Day. We still have a few tickets available for our Cup Carnival to be help at Benito’s on the Nepean Hwy in Mornington kicking off at 12 noon. Email Cheryl at cruisinletsgo@hotmail.comto enquire. At only $30 it’s a very good deal. See our event web page for details.
The cruise night will operate as usual from 5:30pm.
We’ll also host a visit from the ASRF crew displaying this year’s Street Rod raffle, which is a very desirable ’32 Ford Coupe. Tickets will be available to purchase to win this great ride.
