Peninsula Cruise Night - January 2019
What a way to welcome in the new year. Perfect weather, a large turnout of cars and enthusiasts at the Picnic at Mornington Park followed up with our 1st cruise night of 2019. We expected a smaller turnout being a public holiday, and there were plenty of sun burnt owners after attending the Picnic, but no, we still had a good 150 cars cruise in. And what a great mix of cars. Where else can you a MG Midget sandwiched between 2 street rods, or a slammed sled down the row from a VW Kombi ute? The holiday also seems to have elevated the ‘laid back vibe’ to a greater extent than normal with a very mellow relaxed atmosphere. Very pleasant. With the Sober Mule closed, the Rotary Club stepped up their sausage sizzle to provide a simple but tasty hamburger and drinks. Thanks Team.
Time for the Cruiser draw and Peter decided to take home the Dyno Tune provided by Chev’s in Carrum Downs. Runner up was very happy with the $100 as second prize. We managed to find 3 winners for the night’s ACDelco & Liqui Moly Goody bags quite quickly, so with the sun still out and the music playing the cruise night slowly wound down.
How good is it to be part of our street rod/chrome bumper/muscle car community on a day like this? We’re back next month on Feb 5th.
Managed to take a few photos just for the record.
