Peninsula Cruise Night - February 2017
With the exception of the wind, February cruise night was about as good as it gets! Warm & sunny weather encouraged owners to get out in their cars and they kept cruisin in until over 250 filled the car park. And what an interesting variety of cars on display. When the last time you saw an early ‘30’s supercharged Auburn with a convertible sedan body? New sponsors, Wizard Auto Hose and Buff n’ Stuff were present to explain the services they can provide car enthusiasts. At 7pm we started up the night’s prize draw with the LGC Cruiser draw. First lucky winner was Tony who opted for the $100 cash. Tony’s win gave us the opportunity to ask him about his new business venture. He explained that he and buddy Mark will shortly take over management of the Holden Museum in Echuca. Tony invited everyone to come and visit the museum when next in Echuca. For the second Cruiser prize on offer, Curly picked up the Dyno Tune voucher supplied by Chev’s Performance in Carrum Downs.
It didn’t take too long to find the 3 winners of the entrants raffle each going home with a bag of Meguiar’s and ACDelco’s finest products. All too soon another cruise night was wrapped up as the cars cruised out.
The one downer on the night was the damage to an entrant’s Buick from a falling branch. This has been reported back to the Centre’s manager with a request to have all the trees inspected.
