Peninsula Cruise Night - January 2014
We’d all like a January evening to be a classic summer’s one, warm enough for a T shirt, a gentle breeze to keep things comfortable, a clear sunny sky, you know the one that’s gone missing from Melbourne’s summer so far! We got close, warm enough to get by without a jacket and the breeze was a few kph higher but it was still pleasant enough to justify dusting off your favourite car and cruise down to Mornington’s Homemaker Centre for our 1st cruise night of 2014. With over 300 cars cruising in, there was plenty of interesting machines to check out. The sausages off the Rotary Club’s BBQ proved popular as they sold out just before presentation time.
LGC’s Alan Newton kicked off the night’s raffle draw with a presentation to Jarrod Harding from Shannons in appreciation for the support Shannons provided to last month’s successful Santa Cruz. Jarrod pulled the first winner’s name out of the bucket for the nights Cruiser draw. There were a few prizes on offer and Lorraine grabbed the $100 note without blinking an eye! The $300 voucher for a dyno tune courtesy of Chev’s performance in Seaford and the $50 gift voucher provided by Goodguys in the Homemaker Centre also found new homes.
Next up was a small gift to young Lenny who was turning 3 y.o.age later in the week. Lenny is a regular cruiser and can be seen checking out the cars each month from the comfort of his hot rod roadster. Then it took a while for some reason to find winners for the nights raffle prizes provided by ACDelco but we got there eventually and another cruise night wrapped up.
See you there next month.
