Peninsula Cruise Night - November 2010
Melboure is experiencing some of it's wettest weather for years and unfortunately the Rod & Custom Picnic and Pegasus Swap were victims of this but we got lucky with hardly a drop of rain all day. And a big day it was with many cruisers ariving early for the Cup Carnival. They enjoyed great food, from the Sober Mule, great sounds from the LGC PA and a great view both in the car park and the fashions on the field. The couples that made the effort to wear their finest really lifted the day making the place feel a bit more special. The calcutta for the cup was run again and generated an amazing prize pool with some of the usual suspects taking home the cash.
Not long after the running of the cup even more cars and bikes started rolling in for the usual cruise night, there would have been easily 200-250 cars and bikes there at some stage during the day. It never ceases to amaze me the variety of cars and bikes that come to the cruise night from full on hot rods to rare and restored vehicles to brand new muscle cars and some cars you never thought you'd see at a cruise night. And then there is that amazing 540cu.in. powered bike. Great also to see the Tassie guys and their "new" cars. It all goes to make a fantastic spectacle and something of interest for everyone.
We were also lucky enough to have on display the prizes for our Summer Raffle.
