Peninsula Cruise Night - August 2010
August is smack in the middle of winter when all chrome bumper cars are usually shivering in their sheds. Not all it seems as around 80 poked their bumpers out and cruised to the cruise night. Bob picked up a very handy shop trolley in the Cruiser prize draw, some more ACDelco car care packs found new homes, many Roast Beef Rolls were consumed and another cruise night provided a an alternative to staying home to watch re runs of Top Gear!
Variety Club’s 2010 Bash.
On display for the first time was Mornington’s entry in the upcoming Variety Club’s Bash. This big Ford LTD owned by Mornington local identity, John Crossin, finished it’s rebuild a few days earlier. It’s been modified to survive the Bash’s off highway route all the way across country from Ballarat finishing in Margaret River WA . The fresh Day-Glo paint job is hard to miss. John explained that this major fund raising event raises over $1.5million and provides most of the funds for Variety Club to carry out their great work. John announced that he and his small band of helpers have raised $35,000 this year for the Variety Club. The Let’s Go Cruisin team were pleased to donate $1000 to Mornington’s Variety Club committee. We wish John and the Variety Club a safe and successful Bash. You can follow the Bash on www.varietyvic.org.au |
