Cruisin’ Photos
Cruisin the Coolstores February 2006

We finally cracked it for a decent night of weather, which helps a lot.
We had 87 "ticketed" entrants, plus our own cars for a total of 97 cars. Again, a fair number of new cars, and good to see a number of younger owners coming along. We reckon an 19 y.o. in a nicely restored EH Holden, even if it's stock, is pretty cool! Some good old stockers again showing up, as well as some folks travelling a fair way to check us out.
Cruisers would have noticed our new team shirts, which should make us easier to identify at future cruise nights, cruises and other events.
The food service provided by the Peninsula Lounge was a big improvement from the comments overheard.
It was then time to draw the lucky entrants prizes as well as the 50/50. The 50/50 netted a happy winner $170. The came time to announce our latest winner of the ACDelco "Real Car Guy" award, and Trevor Griffiths, was pretty stoked with his win, judging by his reaction. He picked up a very nice ACDelco jacket, a complete set of ACDelco "Real Car Guy" coffee mugs, and a Preston Motors (Spare Parts) discount generating key ring. Then came all the attention, including the photo shoot with his '56 Chev convertible. The GM/ACDelco guys present were then all over him, pumping his hand and the professional photographer that shot ACDelco's latest calendar was there to record it all. I'd say Trevor went home pretty pleased. Which is the idea, as he's supported our activities from the first cruise night, and is a regular participant at many other car events. Congratulations Trevor.
So, a nice summer evening, lot's of laid back fun with our favourite cars, a few smiles on some lucky prize winners adds up to a pretty good Tuesday night out.
