01/02/2009 Small Ford Sunday 2009 The Ford Rallye Sport Owners Club of Victoria Inc. presents the biggest Small Ford show in the southern hemisphere!! Coopers Settlement at Bundoora Park, Plenty Road, Bundoora, Victoria. On the first Sunday in February every year is an event celebrating classic Ford vehicles and you are invited. Small Ford Sunday is the largest event of this kind in Australia attracting over 200 entrant vehicles and hundreds of viewing public. Our 2008 event was another outstanding success raising much-needed funds for charity and creating a relaxed environment for exposure and display of these outstanding vehicles. Entrants travel from all over Victoria and Australia with the occasional overseas visitor; such is the far-reaching attraction of this event. At Small Ford Sunday the cars are the stars. Small Ford Sunday is focused on owners and enthusiasts of small & medium sized Ford vehicles and as such features models from a diverse range of the Ford vehicle history. While the sporting heritage models of the 60's and 70's form the greater percentage of vehicles on display, each year has seen an increase in both periods before and after. Examples of this diversity range from early pre-war Side valve Anglias and Prefects, later Anglia 100 & 105Es, Prefects, Zodiacs, Zephyrs, Consuls and Corsairs, through to all year models of Escort, Capri, Cortina and on to the more modern Sierra Cosworth, Laser, Cougar, Fiesta, Focus and Mondeo models. Vehicle standards also vary from fastidiously restored and highly modified show cars through to racing cars and well worn daily driven vehicles. More than just a car show. Funding an event of this scale doesn't come cheap, but when the bills are all paid profit from the gate takings are put to good use in the form of charity donations. In 2008 the chosen charity for event was the Make a Wish Foundation. Small Ford Sunday is also the major annual fundraising event of the Lions Club of Reservoir, who use the funds generated from food and drink sales for valuable community projects. DO NOT MISS OUT ON THIS EVENT!! see www.rsocvic.com for details. 9:00am Peter Rachwalski: 0408 772 000 Gino Giunta: 0408 127 533 rsoc_vic@hotmail.com www.rsocvic.com

VIC JULY 2009

12/07/2009 Mid Winter Cruise The second Sunday in July will again bring the sound of rumbling engines to the ranges N/E of Melbourne when Let’s Go Cruisin’ hosts it’s 3rd Mid Winter Cruise to Healesville. After nearly 200 entrants enjoyed some ‘cool cruisin’ in 2008, we figure there’s enough hardy enthusiasts willing to enjoy a brisk winters day cruising in their street rod, custom, muscle or pre’75 chrome bumper car even if the windows are up and the heater’s cranked. So rain, hail or shine, we’ve arranged another Mid Winter cruise with reserved parking adjacent the town’s main precinct, kid’s activities, entrant’s prize pool with lots to see & do in this famous tourist town.
Two registration start points for this year:
Start 1: Mornington The registration opens at 8:00am in the Peninsula Lifestyle Centre [behind Bunnings] on Nepean Hwy, Mornington. Register and be ready to cruise at 9:00am. A breakfast deal is available at the Sober Mule Café next to registration.
Start 2: Bayswater Register out the front of Repco in Canterbury Rd just over the Bayswater Rd intersection from 9:00 am. [Melways ref P64 G1]. Breakfast is available at McDonalds. Be ready to cruise at 10:00 am.
Destination
Destination is Healesville for a ‘cool’ day enjoying this famous tourist town’s many great facilities. Have a hearty hot lunch in one of the many pubs or cafes, take the kids for a ride on the railway’s trolley car, perhaps go on to the Healesville Sanctuary or just check out lots of cool cars. What else would you sooner be doing on a winter’s Sunday? Entrant’s prizes will be drawn at 2:30pm at the LGC tent.
Cost: $5/car. Entrants will receive a lucky entrant’s ticket with lots of prizes to win along with a best presented award up for grabs.

HMAS CERBERUS at Westernport Victoria, will have its bi-annual Open Day at which the Royal Australian Navy’s premier training establishment will showcase its people, many of their skills and the base with its many heritage listed buildings, Chapels, Wardroom (with its murals) and Museum. The RAN Band will perform a number of concerts and Ceremonial Sunset and Beat to Quarters. It is free admission and there will be a range of food and drinks on sale. The gates will be open to the public from 1000 closing at 1600. As well as being Navy’s main establishment, a number of tri-Service schools are resident here and so the day will also include Army and RAAF events. We also have a strong involvement with our State and local communities so VIC Police, SES, CFA, schools so many will be present.

25/10/2009 2nd Annual Shannons Hazelwood All Makes Car & Bike Show. 100% of the proceeds of the show go to charity - Last year being our first we had approx 200 cars and raised almost $4000 for Gippsland Rotary Centenary House which is in conjunction with Latrobe Regional Hospital Cancer Care Centre. We had a brilliant array of vehicles rod, custom, classic, vintage/veteran, and many local clubs with displays ie; speedway. The venue is spectacular. (hazelwood pondage caravan and camping grounds) this year we also hope to include vintage speed boats out on the water. The event also includes local clubs promoting their services, Motoring Clubs - Girl Guides - CFA recruitment etc Unfortunately this time around we will be overlooking the baron hills of Churchill/Calignee and Boolarra after the recent fires. But this, being the only show in the Churchill area it will again prove to be a great community event and give some of my guys who have lost alot, a chance to have another great day.
