NZ MAY 2009

02-03/05/2009 Marineland Run & Swapmeet. Special 33 & 34 extravaganza to celebrate the 75th anniversary of the 1934 Ford. Marineland Street Rods are proud to announce our special guests for our Rod Run & Swapmeet will be the incredibly talented musician and hot rodder, Billy Gibbons of ZZ Top fame, responsible for creating, arguably, one of the most recognizable 33 coupes in history – maybe second only, to a 34 three window coupe called the California Kid, so how could we not have Pete Chapouris back again? Both Billy and Pete will be joining us for the Rod Run on Saturday, giving lucky entrants on our run the chance to rub shoulders with these icons of our sport and culture this will be followed by a rather classy evening affair, with Pete and Billy performing a very entertaining audio visual presentation, followed by entertainment and a charity memorabilia auction. During the Sunday Swapmeet and Car Show , Billy and Pete will be doing appearances to autograph posters etc, along with assisting in judging some special award categories and finally presenting trophies at prizegiving at approx 2:00pm. So watch out in your club mail boxes for more info and entry forms for the Rod Run and be in quick as entries are limited to the number of people the hall can accommodate. As always entry to Sundays Swapmeet and Car Show is open and free to all display cars (arriving before 10:00) with lots of prizes and giveaways and plenty of activities planned throughout the day to keep everybody entertained until prizegiving at the end of the day. Marineland Street Rods looks forward to seeing you all in May 2009 for another top quality event in the beautiful Hawke’s Bay sunshine.
