Cruisin the Coolstores November 2007

The second Tuesday in Melbourne is Cup Day, a public holiday. A day when most of Australia stops for a horse race. Picnics, BBQ's, a great day to gather with friends and enjoy the day and this Melbourne Cup day was perfect, 21º, hardly a cloud in the sky. So would a bunch of rodders take time out of their day to Cruise to the Coolstore? You bet they did! The biggest cruise night since last years Santa Cruz!
It is just amazing the quality and variety of cars that cruised in, hot rods, customs, muscle cars, restored and modified. Of particular note was the number of early "left hook" rods, a T sedan, a T roadster, a 32 roadster, a 32 coupe. The overflow grassed area was put to good use again. Many spent the night walking around looking and dreaming at their favourite rides or gathered in groups with lots of bench racin’ going on. The entrant draws went off like clockwork at 7:30 with lots of happy cruisers going home with something special. Just a perfect night.
