Victorian Hot Rod Show 2007
The Let's Go Cruisin' team decided to enter a club stand at the 2007 Vic State Hot Rod Show. Whilst we're mostly about getting the cars out and cruising', we do support the concept of the show providing an opportunity for the general public to get up close to our favourite hobby as well as hopefully providing inspiration to future rodders.
With a theme based around our some our planed events, Cruisin' Main St, The Mid Winter Cruise and other cruises, we entered John Leggo's '34 Woody with Teardrop Camper/Trailer and summer fun accessories, Nick Duyvestyn super nice '65 Mustang Coupe, Graeme Hutson's tough A model roadster, and Alan Newton's 2 Door '31 Tourer. We were also fortunate to have Tony Morfett's immaculately restored [ less than 10 kms ] '71 Falcon XY GT on the stand as well. Tony is a Cruiser, and hopefully you'll get to see more of this great car at some of up coming events.
When it came time to hand around the awards, we claimed a podium finish coming in third in the Club Stand section, behind the perennial champions, The Southern Beaches Rod Club. John Leggo and Alan Newton picked up 1st places in their class sections of Street Rod Commercial and Tourer.
Congratulations to all the winners. Judging by the long lines of people waiting to get in the Exhibition Buildings all weekend, the 2007 Vic State Rod Show was a great success.
