Beach Hop - New Zealand 2011
Around 28 LGC members and Cruisers flew across the ditch to attend the 2011 Beach Hop. The event kicks off on Wednesday and goes non stop right thru to Sunday. Over 1000 street rods, muscle cars, chrome bumper classics mixed in with some Zephyr's [many running V8's], Cortina's [blown SBC of course], pick up trucks, late model Vette's, Mustangs, Camaro's, Cuda's and more, all cruising from dawn till late, most with open headers adds up to a great spectacle. Add in numerous bands, dragsters and funny cars firing up in the main street and you start to get the picture that every thing you've heard about Beach Hop is probably right. And it rained across the weekend!! Did it dampen the event, not really, got to love the kiwi's, they just kept cruisin'!. Make sure you add this event to your bucket list. We'd like to thank the kiwi's for the great hospitality and genuine friendship we were all shown. Hopefully we'll get to repay it when they're over this way. Congratulations to Noddy Watts and his large team of helpers for putting on great show in spite of the weather. We'll be definitely going again.
