Community Service
Let's Go Cruisin' is all about having fun with family friends and the cars, but a big part of what we do and why we do it is to raise funds for charities and other deserving community service organisations. Your entrant fee, general public entry, LGC merchandise and even raffle money goes towards making this possible.
LGC has recently purchased its own Defibrillator through the Heartstart Foundation to have one of these units vailable at all LGC events.
We have also used LGC cars for various events and special occasions.

CLAUDE Bury has made it his mission to provide defibrillators to those who need it most.
Through the Heartstart Program with the Williamstown Rotary Club, Claude has provided countless numbers of these lifesaving devices to families across Australia.
But it’s not only families who have benefited from Claude’s tireless efforts, schools are also reaping the rewards.Altona P-9 College became the 20th school to receive a defibrillator through the program, with funding being sourced from the ‘Let’s Go Cruisin’ Association’.
The car enthusiasts’ group hold cruises and other activities whilst raising money for charity.
The profits raised at its January social event went to the Heartstart program, with Altona P-9 College and Spotswood Primary School receiving a defibrillator each.
Alan Newton from ‘Let’s Go Cruisin’ said he was keen for the funds to go back into the local community.
When Claude started the Heartstart Program eight years ago not many people knew what a defibrillator was.
Today, the majority of people know and understand the benefit of having quick access to a defibrillator in an emergency. Teacher Paul Bombaci said Altona P-9 College was pleased with the donation.
“Anytime you get something that is going to help save lives has got to be a good thing,” he said.
Teacher Matt Kelly said you never know when you might need a device like a defibrillator.
The teachers agreed that it was not only a benefit to the students and teachers but to anyone within close proximity to the school.
For more information or to make a donation to the Heartstart Program visit www.heartstart.org.au.
Here are some of the organisations we have been able to support.
We couldn't do all of this without the generous assistance and support of our current and previous sponsors.
Our thanks to

Blue Ribbon Foundation
The Victoria Police Blue Ribbon Foundation was established to perpetuate the memory of members of the Victoria Police killed in the line of duty. This is achieved through fundraising with money going to specialised medical facilities in Victorian public hospitals.
To date, the Blue Ribbon Foundation has allocated more than $5 million to community projects that give specialised treatment and medical care to over 85,000 patients each year. We want to continue this work so that more facilities can be provided into the future.
The Foundation is a community - based organisation made up of people just like you - people who care enough about their community to allocate some time and energy to helping others. The same type of people who believe in law & order and appreciate the role our Police Force plays in keeping our communities safe.

Friends of Ronald McDonald House.
A home away from home
What would you need if your seriously ill child has to come for treatment at the Monash Medical Centre? You would need to be close to your child whilst being able to keep the family unit together. You would need a comfortable, safe place to stay with your family for as long as you need. A place which is warm and welcoming and provides support from other families who understand your concerns we are a home away from home with a heart.
Ronald McDonald House Monash is a special place that meets these needs. Opened on 24th April 1993, the House is one of 13 Houses in Australia and over 275 worldwide. Since opening thousands of families, averaging 500 each year, have stayed with many returning 20, 30, 50 times for subsequent treatment. This has resulted in over 6,000 bed-night stays per year an amazing record.
Although the House receives major grants from Ronald McDonald House Charities (RMHC), the official charity of McDonalds Restaurants (Australia) Ltd, and donations from McDonalds restaurant owners, it is neither owned nor operated by McDonalds Restaurants. Ronald McDonald House Monash is incorporated as Sandy Ridge House.
Ongoing costs are raised annually through the support of our volunteers, friends in the community and corporate sector. We extend a very big thank you to them for their continued support both financial and in-kind.
