Rich River Rod Run 2010

The Rich River Rod run is conducted by the Rich River Rod & Custom Club every two years and is one of the most popular events on the rod run calendar. And this year’s run was another successful weekend for those lucky enough to there. Perfect weather, hundreds of great cars, a cruise out to Kyabram that filled the main street, a paddle steamer cruise on the Murray for the girls, good food and entertainment.

Let’s Go Cruisin supported the weekend’s events with a cruise up the Echuca on Friday and a cruise out to Barmah Sunday afternoon after presentations were concluded. Congratulations to the Rich River Rod & Custom club for putting on another successful run.

Echuca Cruise.

Friday’s cruise saw around 20 cars leave the service centre at Wallan and cruise in convoy to Sheppparton. Most of the ladies voted to be dropped off at SPC/Ardmona’s new Outlet store in town. Then it was a short trip to Lilow Auto Tech’s factory. Lilow’s proprietor, Ian Eliason hosted a tour and talk about the production of street rod chassis’. Ian demonstrating their capability by cutting out a BLANK for a ’34 Ford chassis rail right there and then. Thanks Ian for allowing us to visit. Then it was back to the Outlet store’s café for lunch. The cruise then continued on to Echuca.

Barmah Cruise.

After a full and very enjoyable weekend, we kept the weekend going by hosting a cruise out to Barmah where a band and a dinner deal was waiting at the Barmah Pub. Cars arrived in Barmah to a welcome from most of the town’s residents and it wasn’t long before this event was in full swing. The band was cranked up inside, the cold beer slipped down a treat and an excellent dinner served. The local Progress Association provided a sausage sizzle, fund raised with a raffle and provided a cherry picker for the photographers. After dinner, Cheryl Hutson presented $500 from LGC to support the Associations improvement projects for the town.
