Arrive in LA
Flight Melb to LA was ok if you like being crammed in a tight spot with little sleep for 14 hours. LA to Houston by Continental much better because I got upgraded to first class, could get used to it. Don't know what I did to deserve that.
Started off running around sorting out RV, local Bank account, trailer, cell phone and wireless USB for this here lap top. Cell phone number is 281 770 6162 with 0011 1 in front if you need to contact me urgently, its a cheapy prepaid phone because that's all I need so it can't call overseas but you can ring or text me in an emergency if necessary.
Spent a few hours at PPL RV and decided on the 33 foot Tropical Motorhome.
Cost US$31000 plus a couple grand in taxes etc but would be worth $100,000 in Aussie if I could register it there, which I probably can't. Amazing vehicle, serious truck type chassis, mega V10 engine and o/d automatic, easy to drive and seems to power along pretty easily. They had a few things to fix , mainly the LPG bottle had to be replaced . Citibank ran me around in circles getting the money transferred from Aus to USA. Took a few phone calls to get the transfer set up and authorised, lucky they pay reverse charges.
In Houston "pickup trucks rule the roads" Like every second car is a bloody big dually, all flying along at 80 mph on those big 5 lane freeways.
